Some 12 years ago, wheelchair accessible transport in Cyprus was almost unknown. Some tourists who traveled to Cyprus in their wheelchairs had experienced unpleasant happenings in transport means. A few incidents occurred during the transfer of the disables from their wheelchairs to the normal taxis and buses. Humanity and dignity could not be properly applied due to the fact that proper accessible transport did not exist.

It was then that we decided to try to stop this by modifying a minibus so as wheelchairs with the persons in them would be able to enter a taxi or a minibus. It took us almost two years to persuade the appropriate
authorities to issue the relevant licence enabling us to proceed.
There were no specifications and no knowledge at all.
We then tried to get specifications through various companies in Europe. Internet helped us a lot. At the year 1999 we had our first adapted minibus on the road offering its services to the local disables but mainly to the handicapped visitors specially for those who could not transfer to normal seat in a taxi or a minibus.

Throughout the years we gained a lot of experience in the field.
Today our small fleet consisted of two adapted minibuses and three adapted taxis,as well as a biger adapted bus taking up to 8-10
wheelchairs simultaneously, can meet any requirements. Locals have a way out whenever they want to travel for any reason remaining in their wheelchairs. Tourists visiting Cyprus all they have to do is to book through their travel agents or contact us directly and enjoy our services during their stay in Cyprus as well as during
their transfers from and to the airports or ports of Cyprus.

It has been a unique experience , a great honor , a respectable previlege and a life’s spiritual satisfaction ,to be the official transporters twice in Cyprus of the BPA and U.K athletics Paralympic camp during the preparation in Cyprus 2003-2004 as well as the Irish Paralympics athletics team. We must admit we have enjoyed every moment and we had unbelievable relationship with the athletes, paramedics, physiotherapists, administration and other members of the group. The photo and the signatures of all these life fighters gave us extra courage to continue as we were more than sure that it was worth doing it. It would make us feel much better if by this chance express our sincere thanks to everyone of them and wish to all of them happiness, health and the best results on what they are doing wherever they are now.
